Showcasing a Few Blogs

Many of you already know Dandy from Spontaneous Clapping, one of my most treasured blogs in my bloglist. If you have yet to visit Spontaneous Clapping, do so immediately! It will bless your day. It's a little chronicle of her life, including glimpses into her days with her soon-to-be hubby and their upcoming wedding, her fought-and-won battle with cancer, book reviews, restaurant reviews, even peeks into retail stores she finds interesting! She has an incredible eye for the unique, the adorable, the quirky, the stylish, all of which she photographs beautifully and shares in her blog. Dandy found my blog and left me a comment one day. I think she was my first not-acquainted-with-in-real-life commenter....a banner day for me! I visited her blog and instantly liked her. She's so funny, so witty, so intelligent, so strong, so amazing, it made me want to be BFF's with her and write "2 friends + 2 gether = 4 ever" in her yearbook. If we had met in real life, I would have passed her a note that said "Do you like me? Circle one: yes no maybe" while covering my mouth with my hand and giggling "tee hee hee". So when Dandy awarded me a Loyal Friend and Visitor Award the other day, I was so honored! This award is for those loyal friends who keep coming back for more of your blog and leave delightful comments. You all know I was reduced to jiggling lime gelatin over the last award I received. But recently, I've come to see awards as a nice way to showcase some of my favorite blogs and introduce them to you so that you can visit them and enjoy them as much as I do. So in keeping with the guidelines of this award, I'm going to list 4 blogs written by amazing women that are loyal to Kids in the Kitchen through comments and emails, and whose blogs I love dearly! There is nothing required of you, not even acceptance of the award or passing it on. Just know that I think you're wonderful and I'm so grateful to know you! Tammy at Flat Creek Farm has a delightful blog full of breathtaking photos. My favorite posts are her walkabouts in which she shares photos from a walk around the beautiful countryside in which she lives. Meghan at The Belt Family is my cousin. But I'm not biased! She has a blog that is littered with cuteness. Her two kids are so adorable your heart aches. She's also amazingly crafty. She makes cards, sews, scrapbooks, and decorates her house all cute. One time I got goldfish for my daughter and put them in a fishbowl. Meghan? She got goldfish for her kids and put them in a clear glass flower vase. She's very crafty like that. Oh, and she's cute too! Andrea at Rural Revival. By far, one of my favorite places to be. Andrea is a peaceful person and her blog reflects that. My favorite thing about her blog is seeing photos from her garden and glimpses of her wedding dress for her upcoming wedding! McVal at Sew Not My Day is such a fun and loyal blogging friend. We're new friends, but since the day we "met" she has been to my blog for every single subsequent post. This won't make sense without context, but one time in a comment to me she said "(Hey, let's go ride our bikes!)" and I kept giggling about it all day long. Her blog is an eclectic mix of all the things going on in her life. Most notably, her talented kids, hedgehog babies and her incredible sewing talent. Cottage Girl is another one of my favorite places to be--it's just a wonderful place to go, relax and read. Cottage Girl is as sweet as any woman can be and I just love to see what she's up to. You should see the cottage she lives in, the things she's done with it since her children moved out and the garden! It's amazingly beautiful. I was just recently looking at some photos of her backyard from April, and I wished I could have teleported myself to her cottage to be amongst that beauty. Oh, and by the way, she's got adorable grandchildren too. Now that I've done my 4, I'm starting to jiggle a bit....What about my new found friend Kat at Heart 2 Heart who always says such uplifting, encouraging things to me? What about my incredible friend Sara at The Drabert's Blog Spot who has been with me almost since the beginning of my blog? (And who also has a few yummy recipe posts)! And Heather at at Unexplain This, my online friend before I was blogging and my lifeline through the trials of infertility. Lisa at Big Texas Hill Family, too! Debbie at Stop Her She's Knitting who is hysterical! Oh! and GASP! Jana at Sugar, Spice and a Little Bit of Life which has quickly turned into a daily must-read for me. See? I'm no good at choosing a few people. I haven't mentioned all the ones I'm even thinking of. (From my Front Porch, Chocolate Covered Daydreams, stop! Just stop!) All your blogs deserve showcasing. I'm jiggling people! Shrieking isn't far off! Like I said in a previous post: all you have to do is click on any one of my followers faces and a spectacular blog will be handed to you for your reading pleasure. Gosh, why am I so annoying?

Oh my gosh you are feeding my already terrible blog addiction! I just keep adding and adding to Google Reader. Now I really need the extra hours in the day that I am hoping to order from somewhere!

And thank you so much for the "blog shout out". I got all shivery when I saw my name there.

Cute post...you are so funny....could you do me a favor and make sure you can access my blog? I am having Blogger issues; it seems very slow and my blogger reader list is totally gone....poof. I am quite dismayed over that. So I don't know if it's me and something I've done or a Blogger issue. thanks for your help, and if you cannot access it, would you email me at suzanne(dot)joffrion at gmail.com? Thanks so much!
Suzanne

I circle YES! I'm so excited I can barely contain myself! If I were rich and famous you would be my publicist. I'm so very lucky to have such an amazing invisible friend! Someday we'll meet in real life- I'm sure of it.

Thank you so much for the shout out! I'm sitting here like a slack-jawed gawker (gosh I hope I got that right - still one of my fave Elle Bee posts & I still can't get that line out of my head). Dumbfounded I am. You're so sweet! We all love you too! If ever I need a mood pick-me-up during the day, this is where I head to see what you and the kids are up to today. I'm always guaranteed I'll leave in smiles, and I mean that :) thank you again, and can't wait to check everyone else out. wait! mcval has hedgehogs? so do we! -tammy

You are the most sweetest cousin I've ever had! Seriously, thank you! I wish we were closer. One of these days we'll see each other again and let the little ones play.

And by the way, I LOVE your blog. When I log onto Blogger and I see "Kitchen with Kids" on my list of new posts, I get all excited inside and read it first, out of order of all the other new posts. I just can't wait, I have to read it right away!

Love you!

Actually Heather and Karen were my first not-aquainted-with-in-real-life commenters, but they know so much about me, in intimate detail, it FEELS like I know them IRL!

I totally remember when McVal wrote that comment!

Elle Bee! You blew me away this morning! I was innocently or perhaps ignorantly catching up on my blog reading this morning and next thing I know, I'm reading about myself! When the tears started to come on, I had to shut down and concentrate on my work. Right, like I could do that! I did, however, walk around in a dazed awe for the remainder of the day. : )
I'm still trying to figure my way around this whole blogging thing and I putter at best on my own blog because it's far more fun to read everyone else's! To know that someone as sweet, funny, and as kind as you looks forward to reading my blog..absolutely makes my day! I never thought how many wonderful people like you I would meet in blogging land. I truly believe He led me to all of this!
Thanks you so much and Dandy was absolutely bang on to award you, congrats!
Be well! ~Andrea~

Elle,

Congratulations on your blog award. You know if someone didn't get this one to you it would have found it's way home.

I love your simple girl next door silliness and spirit. You can stop by my home anytime. I would also sign your yearbook and if you asked if I liked you, I would have not only circled the word YES, I would have highlighted it for you.

Love and Hugs ~ Kat
