Fixations

I'm still drawn to photographing our rain boots.  I don't know what it is about them!

My amazing friend and photographer, Roxann gave me this idea to pop the boots.  I think I love it.

{Hi Roxy!! ♥}

Maybe I'm loving rain boots right now because they are supposed to get dirty.

We don't have to worry about them.

We slip 'em on, kick 'em off and never think a thing about them.

I'm also kinda obsessed with this:

She takes my breath away.
Sometimes I look at her and I just know with certainty that God is going to do great things through her.  It makes my breath catch in my throat...this holy God of wonders we serve.

Recently I've also become preoccupied with the sky.  I love clouds.
I think I know why.  My ultimate fixation, Jesus, is mentioned in connection with clouds in the bible a time or two...
I watch for Him...is that silly?  Maybe.  But that's okay.  Child-like faith is okay.  After all, as it is written in Matthew 24:42 Jesus himself said "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come".

At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.  Mark 13:26

After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 1 Thessalonians 4:17

“Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen. Revelation 1:7

The Beginning

I'm starting small.

I'm thinking big.

A 5K today.

A 10K next.

And a half marathon to make a difference.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13

God doesn't need me to accomplish His will.
But I sure hope He'll use me.

PS. Happy 18th Birthday my sweet Digina!

Garden Girl

Spring is making it's way into our backyard.

This is our persimmon tree.

Jeff and Grace planted some vegetables today.

Chinese leeks, radishes, turnips and zucchini.

The swiss chard from last summer made it all the way through the winter.

Grace the other day: "Mom I just ask so many questions because I want to be a scientist and I need to know everything".  Yep.

This is our Fruit Splash tree given to us by Kristen for Christmas.
It will have nectarines, peaches and apricots.

Here's the little scientist learning about roots

and collecting rocks.

Of course, scientists can be goofy too you know.

My Grace

It's hard to believe this precious little baby

is now this sweet, fun, bright little girl!

Starting kindergarten this fall?  No way!
Every age and each new stage has something so joyful about it.

Gracie, there is so much fun ahead for us!

Someone Please Tell Me

Who is this?

Because it certainly isn't my baby boy!

That's right.  Now he's my little boy.

I couldn't be more blessed!

Sophie Bee

Little furrowed brow.
A two year old has a lot to contemplate.

Especially if you're the youngest and the smallest.
Sometimes you have to make up for it in loud screams or spunkiness.
But that's okay Sophie Bee.
You're right where you're supposed to be.

And I'll help you make your way.
There's always a place for the youngest and the smallest in my heart.

Morning Chores in Jammies

This was the sky this morning:

And these were the workers:

Feeding the chickens in their jammies.

Hard at work!

My son, who is so gentle sometimes:

He always kisses me on both cheeks,

turning my face with his pudgy little (huge) hands.

But he's also so rowdy and loud sometimes!

So perfect just the way God made him.

Sweetie Sophie:

Lovely Grace:

It was a wonderful morning for working

in jammies.
