Curiosity

I try to mind my own business. Really I do. Well...except when big brother has a book I had set my mind on only moments earlier, I do feel it's my right to take it. With force. And a minor screaming spell. But that's neither here nor there.

When I'm in the backyard, I don't see any reason to pry into anyone else's business. I just putter around, feed the hummingbirds, pull mommy's darling flowers, examine Hannah's poo poo.  The usual.  It's just...well...sometimes I can't help but wonder...what lies beyond that intriguing backyard fence?  I mean, really, why should such a fence be built in the first place?  And so high?  Could there be something interesting on the other side?

 I must ask big brother.
"Big Brother?  What's on the other side of that fence?  Do you think there could be something interesting back there that we're missing out on?"

"Now see here.  Whatcha got der's some paranoia.  Awright?  And it'll destroya.  Little sis.  There's nuthin beyond dat der fence thatcha need'n to be worry'n yer pretty lil head over."

Sigh.  Well that was helpful.  It's not often that anything even remotely intelligible comes out of his mouth anyway; why should today be any different.  Why, just the other day I heard him declare "momeemomeemomee oh-uh-sat?  oh-nibie-byeeHEEEEEEEEEE".  I mean, honestly.

Anywho, if he isn't the least bit curious, I'll go do some investigative work myself.  Just a tiny peek.

Hmmm...  I can't quite make anything out...

Looks like grass...possibly a barbecuePropane, I believe..hmm.

Maybe a tree or something...looks to be a yellow poplar...
AHA! I knew big brother wouldn't be able to resist!

He had to come see for himself.
He said he couldn't see much back there either.  He thought maybe he saw a "wahkah-mow-ooooozh!" which means "lawn mower" in case you needed translation.  I must say, he does know his garden tools.

I tried to occupy myself with other tasks.  After all, I don't meddle in other people's business, like I said before.  And it appears there's nothing out of the ordinary beyond that old fence anyway.

But maybe just one more look to make sure I didn't miss anything!

I smiled and chuckled through the whole post! I loved reading it in darling Dee's voice, and that cutie-pie Bex may be unintelligible now, but just you wait...you probably won't be able to get a word in edgewise in a few months.Sweet, sweet kiddos!
